Duties & Responsibilities
Your duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
- Management and oversight of the finance and operational departments.
- Drive operational efficiencies and continually improve performance.
- Drive sales teams to achieve targets by utilizing sales reports.
- Create and prepare sales management reports for analysis.
- Prepare monthly management reports for direct reports timeously.
- Analyse monthly reports and provide feedback with regards to variances.
- Ensure customer pricing and margins are maintained as per agreement.
- Ensure target/budget margins are achieved and investigate reasons for variances.
- Prepare and monitor budgets.
- Drive KPA’s and ensure targets achieved.
- Ensure audits are prepared and run effectively/efficiently.
- Review draft annual financial statements.
- Review tax computations.
- Ensure statutory compliance.
- Check costings and margin calculations on new customers and retail sites.
- Ensure monthly departmental reports are prepared timely and investigate any variances.
- Present reports to stakeholders and hold monthly management meetings.
- Credit management.
- Ensure customers remain within prescribed credit limits.
- Support debtor’s teams in managing and avoiding potential bad debt.
- Cash flow management.
- Working with all departments and branches to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Corporate Governance.
- Ad-hoc project planning and implementation.
- Any other finance, operational and analytical related functions when required.
- Maintain a culture of strong work ethic, respect, performance and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of company records.
- Maintain control and security over company assets.
- Proficient in Excel and summarizing large amounts of data into reports for management.
- To be a problem solver.
- Provide staff/departments with direction and guidance related to company policies when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualified CA required to join a global company in Port Elizabeth.
Qualification:
- Preferably CA (SA) qualification, candidates with the appropriate qualifications and experience will be considered.
Experience:
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Fuel/Chemical Industry experience will be an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), mainly Excel.
- Intermediate on Projects.
- Accounting software package experience.
- ERP experience.
- Creating management reports.
- Ability to work with and manage multiple operational departments.
- Ability to extract data and summarise into relevant management reports.
- IFRS
- Financial statement drafting.
- Knowledge of income tax and preparing tax calculations.
